Stevenson High School Chapter

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12.  In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art.  The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

The goals for the National Art Honor Society at SHS are:

  • Recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in the field of art
  • Serve as service organization to the school and community by participating in one or more art based volunteer projects
  • Organize and Conduct a student driven organization
  • Bring art to the attention of the school and community

The criteria for membership in the National Art Honor Society emphasizes outstanding artistic service to the school and the community through the development of artistic endeavors together with a strong moral character.  By exemplifying these standards, the individual student members of the society promote an awareness of art and become active participants in the education process in their school and their community.
