SHS Community Note - August 7, 2026

Please click through for important upcoming dates and administrative introductions.

Dear Stevenson Families and Community,

It is with immense gratitude and excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Adlai E. Stevenson High School. As a Livonia resident and Stevenson parent, I share your deep pride in our community and am honored to lead a school with such a rich legacy of excellence.

I am also pleased to share an exciting update regarding our administrative team. Please join me in welcoming Ms. Jill Jablonski as our new Assistant Principal.  She will be heading up the Business Office (A-G). With her appointment, Mr. Paul Kennedy (H-O) will be transitioning to lead our Scheduling Office. Our team also includes Ms. Christina Abojamra, Attendance Office (P-Z), and Mr. Arnie Muscat (Athletics).  We look forward to partnering with our students and families for a fantastic school year ahead. You will see us active in our hallways, classrooms, and events throughout the year, and we are all eager to connect with you.

Please keep an eye out for a longer, more detailed communication coming out next Friday, August 14, which will contain comprehensive back-to-school information and logistics. In the meantime, please keep these upcoming timeline milestones in mind as we prepare to welcome back our students on Monday, August 24:

  • Monday, August 10: Yearbook Distribution 12:00-3:00, Front Entrance
  • Wednesday, August 19 - Student schedules are expected to be viewable in MiStar
  • Thursday, August 20 - Spartan Walk 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
  • Thursday, August 20 - Bounce Back to School (Riley) 5:00 - 8:00 PM
  • Senior Pictures (Thursday, August 20 and Friday, Aug 21)
  • Monday, August 24 (First Day of School): Abbreviated PM half-day of school for all students, which includes our Freshman Orientation for the morning session (7:25 AM start)

Also, remember to complete the Back to School Checklist through Parent Connect, which will ensure all student information and forms are up to date for the upcoming school year!

Enjoy the remainder of summer, and we look forward to seeing our Spartans back in the halls soon.

Stevenson Seniors 2027

Dear Class of 2027 Families,

In case you didn't know, Focal Point—which has handled our composites in the past—is no longer providing this service. They are in the process of selling their building in downtown Farmington and are exiting the high school senior composite business. Please note that Focal Point's Plymouth location is still open and available if you wish to book private senior pictures through them. However, moving forward, our official school senior portraits and composites will be handled by Lifetouch.

With that in mind, senior portrait dates have been scheduled for Thursday, August 20, and Friday, August 21, in the PAC Assembly Hall.

Important Note: This initial photo session is completely free of charge and will fulfill both your student's Yearbook and Senior Composite photo requirements.

2026-27SeniorPictureInformation

Because the composite is a major part of our graduation traditions, it is incredibly important that all seniors participate. Please note the following details as you plan ahead:

  • Last Chance Makeup Date: If your student absolutely cannot make the August dates, a final makeup day will be scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th.

We strongly encourage all students to try to attend one of the August sessions if possible. Thank you for your help as we transition to this new process and prepare to celebrate your student's senior year!

Best regards,

Sean P. Horgan
