As we approach the spring testing season, please review the state assessment schedules. These assessments are vital for tracking student progress and fulfilling graduation requirements. To help you plan, we have listed all testing dates by grade level, along with any related changes to the daily school schedule.

Each April, our 11th graders complete state assessments required for graduation. This includes the SAT (math & literacy), the M-STEP (science & social studies), and the new WIN Learning Readiness assessment (math, reading, & data), which replaces the WorkKeys.

Additionally, 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT 9 and PSAT 10 to help us gauge their progress in core areas. While 12th graders do not participate in these assessments, please see the schedule below for their specific requirements and expectations during these dates.

The Importance of Student Engagement During Instructional Time

Student engagement is a vital component of academic success. When students are actively participating in lessons, they are better able to develop understanding, strengthen critical thinking, and apply their learning in meaningful ways.

The use of cell phones and other personal devices during instructional time can significantly disrupt this process. These distractions not only interfere with a student’s own ability to remain focused but also impact the overall learning environment for their peers.

By remaining attentive and engaged in classroom activities, students demonstrate respect for their education, their teachers, and their classmates, while also maximizing their opportunity for success. Your support in communicating this message to our students is greatly appreciated.
